OKI "Feniks" has traditionally participated in the Banja Luka tournament 2012 like in the previous three years. This tournament is in official ECVD calendar.
This time, the competition took place at the University of Banja Luka campus gym, the former army barracks.
Successful season was to be confirmed by the good performances of the tournament and at least repeat last year's result, but it's fifth place was too far this time. Hush now -- I will whisper the secret only to you in just few words: we've played badly. Why? Now, that is a matter for deeper analysis and review within the club.

Partial reminder on the current "who's who" from the wall of host's Club room:
The tournament was open after a couple of games played. Distinguished personalities form Banja Luka, Republic of Srpska, the contestants, the judges and the audience were welcomed, in front of the host club, in a known relaxed manner by Mr. Novak Grbic.
On that occasion was praised the composition of the refereeing team who refereed all these games. It consisted of ten referees of whom eight were members of the tender gender. This was a real opportunity for their practice and gaining experiences among younger, but also to prove the already experienced referees.
As before, the games played within the groups were obtained in two sets, and the final and third place matches were played on three sets obtained.

A1. The opportunity to revenge the autumn champion from Derventa is gone beyond recall. We were nowhere near up to the task. We made too many mistakes in order to get closer to the team who has played on their standard game level. There's nothing more to be said, but one deserved defeat and congratulations to the opponents.
A3. Snow causes problems on the roads and disrupted the team of Hrabri to come due to appointed start of their first match (A2). Thus, the program shifted slightly, so we immediately resume the match against the hosts.
While we did't even become aware of the previous defeat, in front of us was new opponent, but now the task was too difficult. In fact, the task was to clear our heads, relax our hands and just play, as good as we can. However, we continued to play in some inexplicable spasm, which cost us the ugliest result of this year, and probably ever so far. Guys from Banja Luka did just the right thing they should.
A6. After three games of the break we had a chance to get back into the contest and to achieve some kind of result. Our previous results against Hrabri were now not very relevant, especially because of our previous games, but as well for the fact that they come with much stronger team. This was confirmed by the results and their performances in the first two games, does'nt matter they had two losses, too.
We finally brought our game in some kind of order. Tight first set went to the favour of our opponents, as at the result 23:23 they played safe. Again our mistakes costed us the set. The second set was a see-saw of the score. For the first time this day we show some of our capabilities. Yet it was not enough. In the third set guys from Zagreb read our current shortcomings and use it skillfully. Congrats.
In group B OKI "Doboj" did experienced a certain disappointment. So, the second placed team in the Super League of the Republic of Srpska, the only one who won two sets and one point vs the Banja Luka team, finished the competition in qualifying round placed at the 6th.
DERVENTA - SMEČ 3:2 (17:25; 25:20; 25:22; 21:25; 15:11)
Very tensed match among autumn champions of the 1st leagues in Republic Srpska and in F BiH ...or "Belgrade" from an earlier event (specifically, see this photo) versus "Belgrade" in this tournament (see pictures to follow), and on the playing field was one citizen of Belgrade (even)? I wouldn't say more details on this statement, but the one who wants to understand this have to make some efforts to dig photos at least from this site.
Anyway, the OKI "Derventa" played safer at the key moments. Even with some inexplicable refereeing decisions, that were damaged in the few situations, they managed to win and to take the third place. By this success they became the most pleasant surprise of the tournament, and what to say, but - well done!
BANJA LUKA - ZAVIDOVIĆI 3:1 (23:25; 25:19; 25:13; 26:24)
Expected and "deja vu" final match. The two strongest teams routinely "do their jobs" untill the final, and after that nobody knows. This year the Zavidovići team already showed vulnerability in the qualification of the tournament (B2 and B6). These are the nuances that are enough to prevail in a meeting of two great teams. "Z'dići" won the first set, but after that the court was ruled by the host team. There was made a last attempt to get back in the fourth set, but without success. OKI "Banja Luka" deserved to won the trophy.

Awards and trophies for placing in XI Tournament Banja Luka Open 2012th were assigned at "Golden Card" restaurant and these were handed by Novak Grbić - the President and Zoran Ješić - the captain of OKI "Banja Luka".
Dragan Đuran from the champions & host team was named the MVP of the tournament.
Congratulations to the hosts in the games they played, for winning the tournament and for the standard excellent organization.
