"Promotion of sitting volleyball for disabled Novi Sad 2013"

This event was organized by the "Association SPORT FOR ALL and Recreation" with the help of sports administration of Novi Sad and the Provincial Secretariat for sports and youth, practically as a continuation of our last year's initiative.

As we are persistent in our efforts to initiate the sporting public on a familiar topic, we helped some in organizing and we participated in this International tournament called "Promotion of sitting volleyball for disabled Novi Sad 2013". As well, thanks for our taking part in this tournament we owe to Hungarian guys. In the moment when we already get over this tournament, thay helped us by delaying of the last round of Hungarian championship in Budapest, which coincided with the tournament in Novi Sad.

Considerable efforts were needed to organize this tournament and by far the biggest burden was carried out by Mr. Sitarević. Without his enormous enthusiasm and several months of work of this tournament certainly would not have been realized.

We said last time that we are finalizing the construction and that we are in progress considering the promotion, but it definitely developing very slow and difficult. We hoped at least a slight progress after the echoes of our tournaments, but the response of visitors remained very modest. There didn't help the fact of tournament participant teams rankings: the new member of the Super League of R. Srpska (OKI Derventa), a new member of Premier League (OKI Brčko), our modest champion of Republic of Serbia (OKI Feniks) and the nearest neighbor club to Novi Sad (OKI Serva, B.Palanka).

Six games were played in a point system (Round Robin). The best were guys from Brčko, followed by guys from Derventa, behind them was Kikinda and at the bottom, as expected, guys from B.Palanka. B. Palanka, unfortunately did not progressing in their gaming level, so their matches outcome was known in advance. The other three games were a different story. Uncertain, tensed, interesting, full of changes in the lead and refraction at the very end. There is not much worth even to describe it, you should watch it and... see it. Actually, that was the main thing: to show the play! Our team "picked out the shortest stick" in these 3 matches, with almost all sets lost at the difference. In the one set that was not like that, was ended with one point more than the minimum two point difference, 22:25.

The inexperience in this sport of young referees from Novi Sad contributed to some tension in games. Thus, in the key moments of games, occurred undesirable situations and it was refracted (...) as it was refracted, friendly and sporty in the end. Considering them, it's just so and thank to them for their efforts. All this is just sport and we can reconcile with that, but we just didn't win in both these two close matches.

Trophies and prizes were awarded on the pleasant gathering in restaurant "Gunpowder room", on the opposite side of the Danube. Mr. Srđan Ilić and Mr. Rajko Kijac were awarded for contribution to the volleyball sport. Our excellent host, Mr. Amir Sitarević - Sića, as a representative of the "Sport for All, Relaks", received gifts of appreciation from club's representatives, with features of the cities which we came from.

We will continue to work with the same goal, together with the people who are helpin and supporting this story, and so this event will happen again next year, also 2015, 2016, and as long as it takes.
