By attending the tournament in Nyíregyháza, our jubilee summer of 2013 continued. This time, long trip was relaxed bt sleeping over, and spending time with good friends at the court and off the court was everyone's preference.
Invitation for this tournament came during tournament in Kikinda. Circumstantially we made the final coordination with competitor teams. What else we would say? Again our references to various entities did the job. It is not the secret that we are much better in all directions of communication: our english is way better than hungarians and many others, and logicaly, we cope better with hungarian language than our representatives and bosnian guys. As a digression: our multicultural and multiethnic society, above all, learned us to speak the sincere language of tolerance, friendship and good neighbourhood relationship. Precious, and maybe even crucial. To be fully honest, a big deal in this part of story was that hosts afforded an accommodation for our translator.
The tournament was nicely organized, as a new module of the city Vidor Festival. When we asked about the name of the tournament, our hosts gave an answer that this is the first tournament and that: "Er, ooh ... hmm ... well, let it be "Nyíregyháza 2013".
The hosts were aware that the road to their town is quite long and tiring one for each team, and so the hosts club Piremon SE (Nyíregyháza) have provided two nights for the present competitors. So the matches were played in two days, which is characteristic of big tournaments, but this aspect here was practically forced. This time (at our own risk) we tested the road to the "town of birch" crossing Romania, but it didn't payed off: it is still far away!
Now is more-less clear who were the guests: The Serbian National Team, OKI Brčko and OKI Feniks, and the host team of Hungary, actually Piremon with a few extra players. It is not necessary to represent these teams widely, because you read it already on our pages in the previous articles. In case you have not been reading it you can take the advantage of the benefits of search on our website.
Matches were played in a small sport-hall, opened for audience, but almost without any (...or those two guys were the auience)? Nah, we'll leave this humor note, because the point of this tournament wasn't publicity, but the practice of two national teams with a couple serious teams on the opposite side of the net. Result are saying a lot about it.
Serbia : Brčko 3:0 (14, 19, 18)
Hungary : Feniks 3:0 (11, 17, 11)
May you also talk like this? Here we are presenting "very lively conversation" of Serbian and Croatian representatives. The future meeting in Poland is "hanging" above heads of these guys in these moments.
Serbia : Feniks 3:0 (15, 19, 13)
Hungary : Brčko 3:0 (22, 18, 12)
Brčko : Feniks 3:0 (14, 31, 19) Serbia : Hungary 3:0 (15, 12, 21)
Serbian national team deserved the first place, confidently, but one can't say it was easy. Considering our team, there is nothing to be sorry, or to make some deep analyses. Feniks was simply not at the level of other teams, especially after the summer break with our captain in one of the "opponent" teams. We have provided strong resistance in certain moments of inspiration and compliance of team taht had a couple off players attached from a representative bench. We can be quite happy with the game so far, and we thank to the help to Mirko and Dule. We can state that we would welcome two of them in other situations, but they have a unforgivable flaw - they are not from Kikinda :(
You know that every now and then I mention the referees. That lady was fair and impartial, but unfortunately, not too experienced in completing this task.
It is clear that the organizers invited available referee from their city which reduces costs, but experiences shows that this is rarely the best solution. In fact, this time guys from Brčko showed their temperament in some contentious moments and threatened to jeopardize very friendly atmosphere of the tournament. I tell temperament, because they are mostly younger guys, they are used to winning in their league, they're just qualified for the higher rank and full of desire to prove themselves against the new and strong opponents. In the end: all is well that ends well.
1. Serbian representation
2. Hungarian representation
3. OKI Brčko
4. OKI Feniks
Congratulations to the organizers on a very well organized and friendly atmosphere during time we spent in their city.
