OKI "Feniks" Kikinda - News

The First Serbian League 2014
Volleyball Association of people with disabilities (OS OSI)
1st semiseason

Although the League was first played last year, 2013., this is a completely new competition in the history of OKI "Feniks". Despite this, the fact is that all participant teams are more than well known:

KSO "Kragujevčani" - Kragujevac,
OKI "Serva" - Bačka Palanka,
KSO "Smeč" - Beograd,
KSO "Subotica" - Subotica and of course,
OKI "Feniks" - Kikinda

Based on the list of teams all is reminiscent of the (un)finished Serbian Championship 2011/12 organized by SSIS with known outcome. On the website of OS OSI you can find information about the last year's and the current competition of OS OSI. On that page are complete reports kept in chronological order, so you can slide down to reach all the related sports news you might be interested in.

The truth is there you can't find the answer to the question "Why Feniks wasn't involved in year 2013?", but we'll respond to it immediately. Objectively speaking, four participant teams had no competition obligations or they have had in quite modest extent compared to us. At the time of planning the competitions Feniks already established commitments in other competitions, and it was very difficult to pon somewhere another league, especially not as fast as was the organizer's intention. Although both sides had a good will for harmonization of terms, our suggestion was to start League in autumn, but than happened the banal misunderstanding in a phone communication.

The things that followed later, actually in the eve of the this year's league, has just launched an avalanche of problems in order to solve the complete organization of this sport and competition systems in Serbia. You are aware that the aforementioned problems awaiting resolution for a long time and all teams are very keen to have a cut of that Gordian knot, to compare the age of hens and eggs, someone to pull out the sword from the stone, so what will happen - it should happen. No one like this situation, especially not us who are very seriously dedicated to this sport and we definitely came the farthest way in it. In brief, the situation is still uncertain and hypersensitive, and so I will tell you about details and the final outcome some other time.

Thus, I am coming back on the SPORTS part of the news. Reports will be published in order the games were played, as it is the only certain way for managing, but I assumed it's convenient them to be at the ends of Semi-seasons only. Numeration of matches on our page Results overview is internal, but on the OS OSI website games are listed according to official schedule. However, matches were slided according to the obligations of teams and that is why there is a difference between the mentioned League Schedule and updated reports on the website OS OSI. On the other hand, on this site we are by far the most interested our own matches.

According to propositions it is determined to have separate games in each round, unlike the many competitions in which we participate(d). One weekend, a single match and one trip (or organizations of match at home). There's nothing to blame, but we are used to play two or three games in a day, and from our perspective it seems a bit strange.

1st game, May 3rd, 2014, Tovariševo, elementary school "Mileta Protić",

OKI "Serva" : OKI "Feniks" 0:3 (12:25, 15:25, 15:25)

It wasn't a big deal for guys from Palanka to decide to play their games in Tovariševo. The hall is unexpectedly nice for this little village of Bačka and can be a nice example for many major clubs and halls in which we played.

There is nothing much to say about the match. The kind of opponents is the kind of the match. You can not expect to swing and play engaged and with enthusiasm, when the opponent has no resistance and organization. We are glad that OKI Serva survives as a club, but their progress is still slow, very slow one. So all our players had a chance to play the part of the game.

These guys from Palanka are our dear friends, the club in which we've invested a lot of effort and sweat for their emergence and survival. It was already discussed on this site. As they are good hosts, this sport event ended with a pleasant socializing after the game.

The place where we had a coffee before the game has nothing to do with sports, but rustic tavern atmosphere of Vojvodina village simply can not be omited. The pictures will tell a lot, but not everything can be described with a photo.

The school is right there across the street, more or less. School's name and monuments in the center shows the pride of the village, a WW2 hero, Mileta Protić.

Exactly a century passed since the start of the WW1. So, just recently someone remembered the ones deserving the respect, Thessalonica volunteers and Gavrilo Princip, who, as they say, slept his last night of freedom in Tovariševo before the famous event. Time in the village runs slow, very slow.

You might ask yourself why do we need this big report about the village, but just take it easy. You should just have this in mind while you read the report about the League's end.

2nd game, May 17th, 2014, Kikinda, elementary school "Vuk Karadžić",

OKI "Feniks" : KSO "Subotica" 3:0 (25:7, 25:9, 25:7)

Situation development in this game absolutely allowed it, so the Feniks bench players took the helm in the third set and successfully ended the game in the same manner as the starters.

3rd game, May 31st, 2014, Belgrade, Rakovica, elementary school "Đura Jakšić"

OKI "Feniks" : KSO "Smeč" 3:0 (25:19, 25:22, 25:21)

There is no doubt that this was a derby, the best game of the League. The teams are apparently well aware of, but haven't met for long enough time, so the progress of the opponent team in the meantime wasn't clear enough. This is the reason for the presence of jitters on both sides before the game, the one that could decide the question about the League champion.

The Smeč team, by some unexpected way, won over Kragujevac yet in five sets, and it happened to be 15:13 in the deciding set. Or rather to say, there wasn't much missing them to loose even two points. As the Smeč and the Feniks are objectivly much stronger than other teams, it's clear that for Feniks is sufficient only one victory against the Smeč to win the title. Of course, the necessary condition is that there cannot happen the failure as Belgrade guys had.

OKI Feniks was well conditioned, with a lot of games in a semi-season, but is due to the busy sport hall, we missed a few trainings in the eye of this round. KSO Smeč, like us, has one player in national team, but they are playing at home and are significantly enhanced by the regular volleyball player from Red Star, the team who just won Serbian Championship.

The game was really good, with a high quality and it worth watching. The result was breaking in certain moments, but we solved the crisis better than our opponent. In general, there is not a great difference in the teams quality, but as the game went on the future winner became more confident and finished it in the best possible way, 3:0.

Thanks to a lady Slavica from Kragujevac we have the video of the first set and the part of the second. This recording was made from the hand, but it is quite enough to get an idea of the atmosphere and the game quality.

Seami-season of League of Serbia 2014. was thereby completed, and forementioned delayed game is left to autumn part. Current standings (taken from the OS OSI) is this one:

 Pl. Team ?U U+ U- S+:S- P+:P- points

 1. OKI "Feniks" 3 3 0 9:0 225:131 9
 2. KSO "Smeč" 4 3 1 9:5 257:234 8
 3. KSO "Kragujevčani" 3 2 1 8:4 254:239 7
 4. OKI "Serva" 3 0 3 1:9 161:244 0
 5. KSO "Subotica" 3 0 3 0:9 117:225 0

Best regards until the autumn, and the continuation of the Serbian championship, the championship of Hungary, possibly Championship of R.Srpska, than till delayed tournament in Kikinda and all other matches.
